The basics of PPC
PPC stands for Pay-Per-Click, which is a form of advertising which includes paying for each click made to the site via the advert. These tend to be placed at the top of search engines to boost the likelihood of these being clicked on. It is used for businesses to promote their product on the top pages of Google, gain more traffic and show up before their competitors. Although each click through that AD link is paid for, most companies use PPC as the results are worth more than the click.
Where to get started with PPC
The key to a successful PPC campaign is planning, without doing the correct planning beforehand the campaign is likely to fail. Starting with keyword analysis is a perfect place to start research for your campaign. Finding the words which are being used in search queries around your site/competitors is a great place to begin.
How rank at the top?
When you set up a pay-per-click campaign, you are not guaranteed the top spot there are a variety of factors which come into play. Some of these are the quality of the advert, the budget put into place and of course, the bidding which takes place for the top spot.
Google ADs
Once you go on to Google Ads, you go through the steps to set up an ad. Firstly you will need to enter details such as what you’re looking to achieve, then what type of business you have, your URL and where you’d like to target. If you’re offering a local service e.g. plumbing limit your search area to your area and surrounds. Although with a larger target range, you may reach more possible customers if you’re services are able to be offered across the country, it may be worthwhile. Finally, you set a budget, with this budget, the higher it is set the more traffic it is going to create and also the higher it is likely to rank in Google.
Did you know that search ADs can increase brand awareness by up to 80%?
